Two great nights!!!!!

I am now sitting here sipping on a nice warm mug of chai. I just love chai on ice or hot it doesn't matter. It is so GOOOOOOODDDD!!!!

I think the last day I updated my blog was Sunday and my little brother and his wifey were on their way over. We had an absolute blast!!! Dinner was fantastic and we topped it off with ice cream sundaes (we made them ourselves--that was fun!!!) and the funniest movie I have seen in a long time. If you haven't seen The 40-Year Old Virgin, I'm telling you, you must!!!!! It is such a funny movie. We all enjoyed it!!!! Then last night DH and I watched Roll Bounce. I must admit I boo hooed during certain parts of the movie. I mean I really cried--Yes, I am a cryer. All in all, it was a cute movie and we enjoyed it!!!!

Lookie!!!!!

I am just too overjoyed!!!!! My Dh just bought the first season of A Different World for me!!!!!! I have been wanting this ever since it came out, but today he got it!!!!! In case you haven't figured it out, I am a movie junkie. Dh and I have really aquired quite a collection of DVDs and CDs. We have now started a collection of TV shows. This is my third which will join the first seasons of What's Happenin' and Good Times (he bought those too). Watching movies is what I do when I am scrapping, but we love to cuddle up and watch a good movie (even if we have seen it before), too!!!!!! :-)

Well, gotta go now. Dh and I are about to entertain. My little brother and his wife are on their way over for dinner. My hubby is grilling steaks as we speak!!!! UUUUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!

Today has been lovely!!!!

I have been at home for most of the day today. It started raining this morning and didn't stop until late this evening. I had nowhere to go and nothing to do, so you would think that I would scrap, but NOOOOOO!!! I pulled out stuff and started purging and reorganizing things in my scrap room. I don't know what is going on with me, but I just haven't been in much of a scrapping mood lately. That definitely doesn't stop me from shopping or reorganizing!!! :-)

I shouldn't have indulged . . .

I woke up this morning at 6:45. I usually get up no later than 6:00, 5:30 on a good morning!!!! I know that alarm clock went off at 5:00 this morning, but I didn't hear it until 6:45. I think that my dear hubby may have hit snooze more than a couple of times. I knew that this would happen, but I still made it to work on time thanks to dh taking my daughter to school. I guess I should leave the spirit partaking to the weekends . . .or at least to a one glass maximum. Yeah, last night I kind of overexceeded my limit. I had a glass and a half, but, I slept so soundly!!!!!!

Days Like This . . .

Days like this make me wonder why I became a teacher. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my job, but today was a rough one. Then to top it off, I had class tonight so it has been a very long day. As I sit here thinking about the day's events I am slipping into a state of relaxation . . .and it feels so good!!! I was dreading tomorrow(thankful it will be Friday), but that doesn't even seem to matter anymore. I am even having a bit of trouble typing. Please excuse me if there are some mistakes as I feel something else taking over me and once again . . .it feels . . .so . . .good!!!

AHHH!!! I am slowly, but surely reaching a level of pure satisfaction . . . .and yet I take another sip of that oh, so sweet beverage that sends me into a state where nothing else seems to matter and yes, it feels . . .so . . .good. Gone is the stress of the day and the anticipation of the stress that tomorrow will bring. I have reached my happy place. I must now head to bed to enjoy this euphoric felling as I drift into a heavy slumber. Oh, the power of a glass of wine--my not so often indulgence.

I hope I hear the alarm clock in the morning!!!!

I'm Home!!!!!!

I cannot believe I am at home today and it is 4:00, well almost. I have actually been at home for an hour. It feels so good!!! This semester I do not have classes on Tuesdays so I will be taking full advantage of being able to come home and relax. I think I am now going to settle down with a glass of wine and watch one of my favorite movies. Hmm, which should it be, Hitch or Two Can Play That Game????

I've Been Tagged!!!!!

This is the first time that I have been tagged and Adrienne seems to think that it will make me update my blog today!!!! LOL!!! SO here it goes . . .

1. First time you got kissed. How was it? The first time I was kissed I was 12 years old and it left much to be desired. However, I do remember that the guy had soft lips. :-)

2. First time you drove a car. What kind of car was it? The first time I drove a car it was my mother's beige 1985 Reliant K. Remember those cars???? It's the car that I started learning how to drive in. I was actually 12 years old.

3. First time you scrapbooked. When you look at your page, do you love it? OH MY GOSH!!!! My very first scrapbook page was horrible!!! Wait let me retype that . . .HORRIBLE!!!!! My first layout was of pictures from my baby shower when I was pg. I mean I cut out just about every picture on the 2 pages in the shape of the person and then matted them using the Magic Matter (remember that tool?????) I will never redo it though because is it a reminder of how my style has change SO MUCH!!!! THANK GOODNESS!!!

4. First time you went on a date. Where did you go? Who with? The first time I went on a date was with a guy named Terry. We actually went to the movies. Yeah, I know the usual first date.

5. First time you fell in love. How did you know? The first time I fell in love was in college. I walked into one of my classes one day and there was this aura around this guy that I had never met. I didn't understand it then, but he finally asked me out and wooed me on our first date. I guess you can say he swept me off my feet and ten years later we're still together. Yes, my dear hubby!!!! Sorry about the sappiness. Oh, and how did I know??? I just knew which is what I hear is standard.

6. First time you cooked for someone. Was it yummy? What did you make? The first time I cooked anything for someone was my family. I just don't remember remember exactly what I made the first time. I do remember making spaghetti one night for dinner and the noodles were undercooked. That's always a part of the holiday jokes.

7. First time you got on a plane. Where did you go? Were you scared? The first time I got on a plane I was 14 years old. I went to Dallas, Texas to cheerleading camp at SMU. I was actually a bit shaken up. I got sick before the trip (I think it was due to anxiety) and was very congested. My ears were stopped popping on the plane and because I was congested it seemed that there was very little I could do. That was the worse pain I had experienced at 14 years old. It wasn't until much later that day that my ears actually opened. Now, I make sure that I travel with plenty of gum!!!!

8. First time you shaved your legs. Did you cut yourself? The first time I shaved my legs I was 12 years old. I was a cheerleader in the seventh grade and my legs were extremely hairy. I didn't even cut myself. In fact, I loved it so much that I shaved my arms (no nut my underarms), too. I just pretty much didn't want any hair on my body. I just loved that smooth feeling. I have yet to feel that smoothness again with a razor. That's why I love getting my legs waxed.

9. First time you put on makeup. Looking back, how did you look? Did you look good or like a clown? The first time I wore makeup (eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lipstick) I was in the tenth grade. That day I got so many compliments about how cute I looked. Well, I got the "big head" and started trying to wear it at school until my mother discovered it. Then I went back to just lipstick. I wish I had some pictures because I can only imagine how I looked!!!! LOL!!!

10. First time you moved out of your (parents) home. Was it to an apartment or house? The first time I moved out was when I married my husband. We moved into a duplex which was actually pretty nice. Two years later we purchased our own home which is where we live now!!!!

WWWHHHHOOOOOOO!!! That wasn't easy, but fun!!! Adrienne, these are some pretty personal questions, girl!!! Now, tag me again!!!!! :-)

Oh, and I tag . . .Tamika!!!

*******GASP********

. . .the sound I made when I turned on my computer and got a message saying that "the operating system could not be located on any devices." What tha - - - -???? What in the world is going on?? I turned the computer off and back on again only to receive the same message. My heart dropped. I immediately thought about the articles that I had read in Creating Keepsakes about having backup copies of your photos just in case your computer crashes. I also thought back to when I bought all of those CDs so that I can burn my pics to them.

Well, that has been quite some time ago and all I have done is procrastinate. I took my kids to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese thinking all the while that my weekend is ruined because I don't have a computer and what am I going to do about my pictures. I actually cried. When I returned home, I gave it one last try and still got the same message. My brother, who is quite computer savvy couldn't figure it out. Even after he tinkered around on the inside he still found nothing. So, I turned on the computer again and still same message. I then hit the magic keys . . .control, alt, delete . . .and . . .presto!!!!! I am now online again.

What did I learn from this????? That I need to burn my pictures ASAP (praying that my computer will reboot in the a.m.) and I am still a procrastinator . . . a tired one!!!! Good Night!!!

It's Back to school for me!!!!

I have really enjoyed being able to come home (earlier than usual) and scrap, read, clean, or do anything that I want to do, but all good things must come to an end. Yep, I started school this week and I am already missing my freedom.

I had a class tonight and it is going to be a lot of work, but the part that hurt the most is that my books will cost almost $150 bucks. Now, that's not so bad, but do you know how much scrap stuff I could buy with that money. The bright side is that this is my last semester and I am looking forward to it. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

Up Late Again!!!!

Here I am up late again because I got so caught up in trying to complete yet another layout. I am so not a one picture scrapper so this did not come easy for me, but I love how it turned out!!! I am challenging myself to scrap those "one pics" that I have laying around and to use my own handwriting. This is a picture of my daughter and I remember the day this picture was taken. It just popped out at me tonight and so I decided to scrap it. The journaling reads: You have always been a happy baby. Even at the age of three months you were always smiling. Many said that you were smiling at angels. I believe that it is true because I know that God has always watched over you. Woo, now I am off to bed!!!!!

A Layout . . .FINALLY!!!!

I have not completed a layout for myself in forever, so it feels great to finally have one completed. It is actually for my Book Of ME and it is the first one for the album. It's not one of my favorites, but, hey, it's done!!!!

Journaling reads: At 30 years old, I am realizing that I am me and that's the only way I know how to be!

Wanna a good book to read?????

I love to read!!! It's one of my favorite pastimes, so I am always looking for good books. I finished reading this book a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome!!! If you love reading books with lots of drama you'll love this one. I simply could not put the book down. It was that GOOD!!!! It will have you hooked!!!! Take a gander at what others have to say about Other Men's Wives.

The other book is the one that I am currently reading. I have read other books by this author and this one is packed with just as much drama. What can I say, I love reading books with lots of drama. It keeps me reading-wondering what will happen next!!!! I can't wait to finish this one!!!

Husbands . . .Gotta Love 'Em

I was so tired yesterday that I came home cooked dinner, ate, and passed out on the couch. I woke up a little while later realizing that I hadn't bathed my daughter or prepared for today. Much to my surprise I found my daughter in the bathtub (my hubby in the bathroom with her) and clothes all over the place--dh was doing the laundry!!!! He is so sweet!!! I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man--one that tolerates my scrapbooking addiction!!!!! :-)

Oh, Christmas Tree, Oh, Christmas Tree . . .

Well, I hate to admit, but I just took down my Christmas tree tonight. So, gone are the halls that were once decked and my house has now returned to normalcy-almost instantly. There is just something about Christmas that brings about a certain feeling especially throughout my house and I love to decorate. Now, I have only the memories of this Christmas past and the anticipation of the coming Christmas in 2006. ****SIGH*****

Where's My MOJO?????

Okay, let's see . . .pictures? CHECK!!! Patterned Paper? CHECK!!! Cardstock? CHECK!!!! Embellishments? CHECK!!!! Cherry Twizzlers (essential scrapping snack)? CHECK!!!!!!!!! Sprite (essential scrapping drink)? CHECK!!!!! Sappy Romantic Comedy ready for viewing? CHECK!!!!
ME-MOJO???? ME-MO-JO???????? Where is my ME-Mojo???? That's what 's missing, my me-mojo. I have not completed a LO for myself in oh, maybe 4 months? At least four months, but probably more. I have altered items as gifts, made albums for other people, created tons of Layouts for the LSS where I am a design team member, but haven't done anything for me. I am so far behind as it is and need to do something so that I can feel like I have accomplished something with my own pics. I must create something tonight otherwise I fear that my ME-MOJO's hiatus may be further extended!!!!

Is it Friday yet?????

It has been difficult returning to work after being off for two whole weeks. I stayed up late and slept in just about everyday during my break and now I have to wake up at 5:30 again!!!! Well, I haven't been waking up that early. I have been sleeping until about6:15 which is majorly pushing it. When I get home in the evenings I am so tired, but by the time I put the kids in bed I get a second wind and wind up staying up until 1:00 in the morning. At least my house is clean, but I cannot wait for the weekend. Maybe I will get some rest and be back on schedule next week. Yeah right!!!!

What A Way To Start The Day!!!!

I have really been trying to stick to my resolution of being on time. I not only want to be on time, but I want to be early. Well, this morning I was on my way to work and I was early. I turned the corner and what do I see at the bottom of the hill at the entrance to the school where I work?? A police officer. He pulled me over as soon as I turned into the school entrance and told me that he clocked me doing 39 mph at the corner. Is that possible??? I mean from the corner to the school's entrance is at least 100 feet if not more. So I ask, what is the range of those radar guns??? I was turning off of a main street with a posted speed limit of 40mph and he clocked me just as I turned the corner. Now, the school zone is about 10 feet from the corner and I couldn't have made a sharp turn doing 39 mph. I was very frustrated by the time he finished with me. I mean it ruined my entire morning. I have a court date next month and even though I am eligible for probation, I think that I am going to go contest this charge. I want some justice!!!!!! :-)

First Day Back to Work!!!!!

I have to say that I was wiped out by the time I made it home this afternoon. My students were very calm during the morning block, but after lunch and recess they were almost back to normal. I actually had to come home and take a nap. I slept for about an hour and I defintely needed it!!! Can't wait for tomorrow, rah!!!! {said with a bit of sarcasm}

Well, I stayed up late last night cleaning my scrap room (which is why I am so tired) and I am so glad that it's finished. It wasn't bad at all as I am learning to scrap neatly and clean up after every layout. This helps me stay organized and I accomplish so much more. Now, if only I could carry this into my classroom and the rest of my home.

Happy New Year!!!!

What can I say? I am so happy and blessed to see yet another year and I feel like this is going to be an exciting one. I am determined to so some things differently in 2006. Thus, my resolutions.

1. What is a budget???? Well, this year I am going to make one and stick to it. I love to spend money and I'm finding that I do a lot of unnecessary spending and want to be smarter with my money.

2. I must exercise, I must exercise, I must EXERCISE!!! I am starting my mantra already. I have to exercise regularly. I have lost about forty pounds over the last few years going from a size 18 to a size 10 and I refuse to go back. I simply changed my eating habits and exercised, but I have a major problem sticking to it over a period of time. I also want to eat healthier.

3. I want to scrapbook more for me and my family. I have not completed a layout for myself in I don't know how long. I have gotten so bogged down with completing layouts for one of the local scrapbook stores in my area that the real reason that I started scrapbooking (to preserve memories) has taken a backseat. I would also like to submit more layouts to become published, but I don't want to become so focused on being published that I complete layouts just to submit them. To me, publication should be an afterthought.

4. I want to become more organized in every aspect of my life. I have so much admiration for people who just have it all together. Unfortunately I am not one of those people. Don't get me wrong, I am a pretty neat person, but I have a difficult time keeping things in order. I am definitely going to work on that.

and now for number
5. I WILL BE ON TIME!!!! I truly need to work on punctuality (is that a word?). I am always late, except for work. I get there about 2 minutes before the first bell rings. I have always had a hard time being on time. This year I am going to make it a point to work on that.

Well, that's just some of the things I plan on improving this year. I'd say that this is a pretty good start. Wouldn't you????
